Introduction

This API provides developers with access to data from the popular TV show "Shark Tank". Use this website to explore and test the API as you create and develop your projects.

Whether you're building a website, mobile app, data analytics project, or any other application, this API offers a variety of data related to Shark Tank pitches, seasons, sharks, episodes, and more.

Feel free to navigate around the site by clicking the buttons in the header and explore the data and ui views throughout. All of the data is free for you to use. Users are rate limited based on their IP address and are allowed to make 10 requests per minute to the API. If you need up to 25 requests per minute you can signup and visit the api keys page. Here you can generate a new api key and pass it in the headers of your request.

The technology this site uses is NextJS, Vercel for hosting, TailwindCSS for styling, Auth0 for authentication and authorization, Canva for logo design, Redis for caching and rate limiting (by ip and api key), and Neon.tech for a serverless Postgres database.

That site uses an older dataset, was built with Flutter Web, and only supports larger screen sizes. I put in a lot more effort from a UI perspective on that site than the current one. Different goals I suppose.

The data aggregation on this project was the most time consuming part. With a mixture of using web-scrapers, hiring copy and paste experts on Fiverr, and a lot manual effort/cleanup on my part I was able to make this available to you all.
